I'm what they'd call a leaky dispensationalist...lol.

What resources? The Bible. That's it basically. Not trying to be smart here.

Remove truth (right theology and doctrine) from the mix and you have less than Biblical unity. Remove love and you have no unity. Love causes us to seek truth and share that truth with others so that we become more unified. God is truth, and as we are more acquainted with His truth, the closer we are to Him, and the closer we become to each other

For those of us who are a bit challenged, can you explain what "dispy and covenant"? I was gonna act too proud to ask questions, but how far will that get me?

Hey Jewel,

Take a look at these wiki articles for now:

OOOOHHH. Got it. Thanks, Mike. So, when you say you're a "Leaky" dispensationalist, what do you mean?

Well, when Dispensationalism first arose on the scene, it basically said this (as summarized by Dr. MacArthur):

Quote:
"That the Bible taught a unique place for Israel and that the Church could not fulfill God's promises to Israel, therefore, there is a still a future and a kingdom involving the salvation and the restoration and the reign of the nation Israel (historical Jews)."

Like MacArthur, that's as far as I'll go with Dispensationalism. Some Dispensationalist not only see a distinction between Israel and the Church, but also one between what the New Covenant means for Israel and what it means for the Church. I think some go way too far. I believe that God has a real future plan for Israel that is different than the plan He has for the Church.

To make it simpler for me since my lunch break is almost over, I'll link you to Dr. MacArthur's take, which I agree with.
